This is a very popular program I offer. The focus of the class is using Tai Chi to develop core, leg and back strength. Flexibility, balance posture and coordination. I use short forms from Chang Shi Taiji along with auxiliary training modules.. We use different training aids as well as functional fitness exercises to meet the goals of the student. Recommended for ages 30 to 80 or those that have been injured and released from PT
Master Chang was not just proficient in Tai Chi but was a champion full contact fighter and shuai chiao wrestler. He taught and practiced Tai Chi for most of his life and focused on sharing the application of Tai Chi and how the throws of shuai chiao are used in Tai Chi. I teach this method and feel it is an excellent approach for someone that wants to learn application and also at the same time get the benefits of tai chi for the health and wellness of the body. There is physical application with others in these classes but not at the same physical level as the shuai chiao classes. A very good middle of the road between learning application and applying and working on the health of the body. Recommended for ages 21 to 60
Private instruction is great for those with different needs, personal physical development and the ability to focus on your own personal goals. My rates are very good for private instruction, and I also offer a sliding scale for those that are retired.
Group classes are no-cost for those enrolled in private classes.
Depending on the class you may need additional items as examples shuai chiao you will need gloves and a jacket. Tai Chi a sword or a hiking stick etc. But all classes you need shoes specific for the classes, they do not need to be expensive but flat soled.
